Hiking out of Tuolumne Meadows
Young Lakes via Dog Lake
Description: "Hikers along this trail enjoy forests and high meadows with panoramic views of the Cathedral Range."
Mileage: From Tuolumne Meadows, it's 1.5 miles to Dog Lake, then 6.0 miles to Young Lake.
Contour: It's all uphill, of course, but looks like a mix of moderate and gentle climbs. We start at about 8,600 feet, and climb to 10,000 and then drop a bit to the lake(s).
